| The Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club welcomes the public, and in particular new hikers, on the following hikes. Our hike leaders are all volunteers.
Please bring an adequate amount of food and water. It is recommended that you wear comfortable hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes. ‘Layer’ clothing, as the weather could change throughout the day. For example, wear a sweater and a light jacket rather than one heavy jacket.
If you have to carry an epi pen or other medical device, make sure someone knows about it. Mark your pack or jacket somehow to show where it is kept.
Note about pace: “Slow” is less than 3 km/hr, and “Medium” is 3 – 4 km/hr.
Plan to arrive at the meeting spot at least 15 minutes before the indicated departure time. To obtain further information, telephone the hike leader. The hikes are free.
SUNDAY APRIL 27: Iroquois – Kelso , Map 11.
J-Walk. Leisurely, 10km, 3.5 hours. Hilly terrain with rocky sections. Medium pace. A shuttle hike with no dropouts. Beginners welcome. Hiking boots required. No dogs please. Refreshments afterwards.
Depart: 10:00 a.m. Kelso Conservation Area, km 128.5 Map 11 Directions: Take 401 West and exit at Regional Rd. 25 north (exit 320). Go 2 km, then left at Campbellville Rd (traffic lights) for 2 km to Tremaine Rd. Turn left 500 m. to Kelso Rd. follow straight in to parking . Bring BTC membership card. [Note: no entry to Kelso CA from Appleby Line (Fifth Line).]
We will hike on main and side trails short cuts from Crawford Lake to dramatic views from Kelso Park.

Depart: 1:30 p.m. Escarpment Side Road, 2 km west of Airport Rd.
We will hike through the pedestrian tunnel under Highway # 10. Excellent, long views from Escarpment Sideroad area.

Depart: 1:30 p.m. Coolihans Side Road, 1.5 km east of Airport Rd.
Some road walking, balanced by hiking through wooded sections. We'll watch for signs of Spring!

Depart: 9:30 a.m. Parking lot adjacent to Palgrave Mill Pond. Highway 50 - 12 km north of Bolton or 4 km south of Hwy 9. The parking lot is on the east side of the highway just north of Palgrave.

We shall carpool to Coolihans Sideroad, then hike south on the main trail and east on the Palgrave Side Trail to Hwy 50.

Depart: 10:00 a.m. From Hwy 401, go north on Hwy 25 (exit 320) for 9 km, then left at 15 Sideroad, 200m to parking.
This will be a loop hike starting from the Toronto Club's new "Pear Tree" parking lot in Speyside. We will follow the main trail south, then go north on Hilton Falls and Vanderleck side trials to 15 Sideroad and back to the parking lot.

SATURDAY MAY 24: Dufferin Hi-Land.
Leisurely, 8-10 km, 3 hours. Variable terrain. A medium pace loop hike with no drop out point. Beginners welcome, hiking boots suggested, no dogs please. Pub stop after the hike.
Depart: 10:00 a.m. from Mono Community Centre. Take Hwy 10 north to Orangeville, then north for 10km to Camilla. Turn right and follow Dufferin Rd. 8, east for 4 km then north for 2 km, to the parking lot at the Mono Community Centre. Park in the gravel overflow parking area to the south of the community centre.
This is a loop hike through Mono Cliffs Provincial Park. Afterwards we will go to a local restaurant for lunch.

SUNDAY MAY 25: Forks of the Credit.
Moderate, 11-13 km, 4-5 hours, slow to medium pace. Variable terrain with some steep hills. Families welcome, hiking boots suggested, no dogs please. If the weather is warm, this hike might feel strenuous because of some steep hills. Bring lunch and lots of water.
Depart: 10:00 a.m. Forks of the Credit Road near Dominion Street. From Hwy 10, go west on Forks of the Credit Road for about 4.5 km.
A loop hike in Forks of the Credit Provincial Park with some historical sites to see and talk about. We shall likely include the new Limekiln Side Trail. You will get lots of exercise.
