The Caledon Club recently honoured another long time landowner, the Hockley Valley Resort. Conditions were perfect for the 19 club members who snowshoed the entire 18 hole golf course in fresh snow and had a delicious lunch afterwards. In 2009, the Bruce Trail had been located on the property for 40 years. 24 years have been with the current owners, Mario and Nancy Adamo. Hockley's facilities have seen quite a few upgrades over the years making it one of the most popular get-a-way destinations in the area. Hiking the local trails is one of the attractions enjoyed by their guests making our cooperative partnership very successful. We couldn't hold an event on a golf course without having at least 1 golf contest so on Hole 10 we held Men's and Lady's Closest to the Pin by throwing walnuts at a flag in the snow. Both prizes where won by Dufferin Hi Lands members, Rick McCoy and Marilyn Dubach who took home the much coveted, pineapple eco-trophy. Hockley Valley 's Head Golf Pro, Glenn Garratt joined us at lunch bringing a supportive welcome on behalf of the Resort and accepted our Landowner Appreciation Certificate. Thank you, once again to the Hockley Valley Resort for the decades of support that you have shown the Bruce Trail .
